McLennan County Appraisal District

The Seat:

The State of Texas has change the make up of the Board of Directors to put three at large seats (Proposition 4).  These are to be voted in by the public. The current Board is comprised of six members who are elected by the governing bodies of the taxing entities within the District.

What They do:

The Board of Directors watch over the activities of the Appraisal District. The Directors do not appraise property or make decisions that affect the appraisal records; instead, they select the Chief Appraiser, adopt the budget, and make sure the District follows policies and procedures set by State and County law. Typically there are four meetings a year but there may be called meetings. A Director may be asked to service on a committee. 

The Term and Pay:

The term is for two years and there are no term limits. The members are not paid by the county. Typically there are four meetings but there may be called meetings.

Early voting is best time for County residents and all City residents. Early voting starts on April
